Carmel Caterpillars Preschool
Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is crucial for children's development and well-being in their early years. We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all the children in our care and therefore this policy outlines your responsibilities as parents/carers regarding absence.
If your child is unwell, we require you to inform us the morning of the absence. This can be via telephone, text message, Famly message or email.
If your child is absent without notification, we will attempt to contact you via text or a telephone call on the same day. However, if after a reasonable amount of time we are still unable to reach you, we will phone the emergency contacts you have provided; to ensure the well-being of your child.
If your child is absent from Preschool for a prolonged period (2 consecutive sessions) without any contact, we will make repeated attempts to contact you and the emergency contacts provided. We will then send a letter to yourselves and consider a home visit, if appropriate. In the extreme case of us still not being able to make any contact after this, we may contact the local Social Services Team and/or the Police.
These actions will be taken following our Safeguarding and Child Protection Procedure.
